I have passed through Istanbul recently and after a day of spotting I wanted to try something more challenging – night photos! As many of you know the main spotting location is the Flyinn Shopping Center near the departure end of runways 35, which is very close to the runway and also a busy street. You can sit on the balcony having some coffee or a kebab and watch aircraft taking off and landing, which is fantastic. But when it comes to taking photos at night, the vibrations of the nearby street create oscillations and with a heavy jet departing right next to you it is basically impossible to get a clear picture, no matter how well supported your camera is. But I managed to take some cool images for your enjoyment!
