It has been a while, but I am very happy to announce that there is a new image gallery online! Many of you have probably heard of Sharjah Airport before and some might have visited it already. Sharjah is the neighboring emirate of Dubai, UAE and it does have its own airport that was once famous for old Soviet cargo aircraft. Things have changed a bit, but I was gladly able to visit the old aircraft boneyard recently and also included images of some of the more regular visitors to the airport.
Here is a preview of what you will get in the SHARJAH Airport – a desert hub gallery:
I fly into Sharjah two or three times a year and I will be looking to include more photos of it in the future. As you know it is not easy to take images of aircraft in the United Arab Emirates and there always is a certain risk to it. British citizens have been arrested at Fujairah simply for noting down aircraft registrations, but fortunately officials in Sharjah are a bit more relaxed about the hobby. Yet, the once famous airport tours are not being offered anymore and with terrorism around every corner, authorities are more concerned than they were in the past.
As always I am looking for feedback from you and will be happy to receive your comments. Do you like the new SHARJAH Airport – a desert hub image gallery? All images are available as prints, canvas, alu-dibond or whatever you want to have, so do not hesitate to get in contact with me!
Was da noch so alles noch rumsteht rund um den Planeten…
